# 667 Today's Du-votional comes from: Mr 13:15-18 "Let him who is on the housetop not go down into the house, nor enter to take anything out of his house.
16 "And let him who is in the field not go back to get his clothes. 17 "But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! 18 "And pray that your flight may not be in winter.
The destruction of Jerusalem would be sudden and it is very helpful for us to view this as escaping from a tornado, or a hurricane, or a fire. Get out! Seek shelter immediately. The gates are closing and to go back for personal possessions is to run the risk of being shut inside the doomed city.
This flight to the mountains won't be easy for the woman with child, or the woman with an infant. Such flights are seen today in all refugee situations. It's just not easy for mothers and mothers to be.
Then Jesus says something very precious that we should not miss. He tells the believers to pray to God that the timing of the destruction of Jerusalem would not be during bad weather.
People were actually asking God for favorable weather conditions years before the actual event took place. Don't tell me that Jesus isn't concerned with details of our everyday lives.
Pray! Invite God in to the little details of your life!
Father, thank You for this precious lesson about prayer. Jesus didn't guarantee the flight to the hills would be in good weather, but He did remind us to ask the One in charge of the weather for favorable conditions. Let us learn to ask.
