# 662 Today's Du-votional comes from: Mr 13:11 "But when they arrest you and deliver you up, do not worry beforehand, or premeditate what you will speak. But whatever is given you in that hour, speak that; for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit.”
Do you think the Apostles were afraid of the punishments they might receive from the authorities as they preached Jesus as the only way to salvation? Maybe, but here, Jesus is assuring them that He will give them the God-honoring words they will need, when they are put on trial.
Wouldn't it be great to know all the words spoken by these disciples when they were brought into the courtroom? Of course we know some of them as they appear in the Book of Acts, and that should be enough
But think about it! These words were placed into the minds, and spilled out of the lips of the likes of Peter and Paul by God Himself, through the Holy Spirit!
These words of Peter and Paul, spoken before the authorities carry a double whammy, for not only were they inspired in the courtroom, but also in the writings of Scripture.
Do you sometimes struggle with the idea that all Scripture is God-breathed? Then read this passage and understand that if God can put exact words in the mouths of disciples in a courtroom, He can put them in the minds and pens of the authors of Scripture as well.
As we read in 2Ti 3:16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,“
May this Scripture strengthen your trust in the inerrancy of Scripture! Believe all of the Scriptures beloved, they are foundational to your faith.
Father, thank You for Your Word. Your Word is truth that can be trusted!
