Flee To Christ

# 665 Today's Du-votional comes from: Mr 13:14 "So when you see the 'abomination of desolation,' spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not" (let the reader understand), "then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.

Up to this time, Jesus has been speaking comprehensively regarding the whole time until the end of the world. Now he turns to the destruction of Jerusalem in particular.

History tells us that this event took place in 70 A.D. This event is of great importance for the Twelve (the church) and for their (our) work because like the destruction of the Flood, and the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah it stands as a type or example of the final judgment.

In all three cases, the righteous were warned of the impending God-wrought judgment, and they in turn warned others before they took the God-ordained steps to be spared. History tells us that the Christians fled Jerusalem and headed to the mountains just as Jesus told them to do and were spared.

Friend, there WILL be a Judgment Day, and it will be more horrific than the Flood, more horrific than Sodom and Gomorrah, more horrific than the destruction of Jerusalem!

It's closer than you might think. Be prepared! Warn others! Flee to Christ, He is our only hope! For when the gospel has been preached to all the world, the end will come. Our only chance to escape is to believe that gospel and be found in Jesus.

Father, thanks for the warning. It's just another example of how much You love Your children.
