The Fruit of Going All In

# 653 Today's Du-votional comes from: Mr 12:43,44 “So He called His disciples to Himself and said to them, "Assuredly, I say to you that this poor widow has put in more than all those who have given to the treasury; "for they all put in out of their abundance, but she out of her poverty put in all that she had, her whole livelihood."

In calling over His disciples, Jesus calls us as well to learn this very important lesson. It's not that God wants you and I to empty our wallets every time the offering is taken, but He does expect us to go “all in” with Him and “all in” with our local congregation.

Just look how this worked out with the early church. We read in Ac 2:44-47 Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common, and sold their possessions and goods, and divided them among all, as anyone had need. So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.

It's not about how much you give, it's about seeing the need and being willing to part with your possessions to meet the need. Are you all in with God? Are you all in with your local church? Look what happened when the early church went “all in.” “The Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.”

Father, the church was never stronger than it was in the 2nd Chapter of Acts, may the Holy Spirit help us to reassess our priorities as churches and individual believers and be the church You want us to be.
