Like An Ambulance Stuck at A Train Crossing

# 378 - Today's Living Word comes from Mr 5:25,26 “Now a certain woman had a flow of blood for twelve years, and had suffered many things from many physicians. She had spent all that she had and was no better, but rather grew worse.”

Remember, Jesus is on His way to heal a twelve year old girl who is gravely ill. Hang in there Jairus, the ambulance is on the way! But what's this? This is an ambulance that becomes stuck at a train crossing, it's a flat tire. It's a delay when time is of the essence! Who does this certain woman think she is, that she should lay down in front of an ambulance on it's way to a medical emergency? Is she selfish or desperate?

Put yourself in her shoes for a moment. First of all this flow of blood made her unclean according to Levitical Law

Le 15:25 'If a woman has a discharge of blood for many days, other than at the time of her customary impurity, or if it runs beyond her usual time of impurity, all the days of her unclean discharge shall be as the days of her customary impurity. She shall be unclean.

This alone was inconvenient and embarrassing. Then we are told that she had endured many painful treatments at the hands of the doctors, and she was worse off than when she began.

Selfish? I don't think so. Desperate? Oh yes. She did not want to miss this opportunity for healing. Don't miss yours. If you are you without Christ, then your spiritual condition is far worse than her physical condition, because without Christ, you are still in your sins, wasting away in your own blood and spiritually unclean, unable to enter heaven.

Understand the desperation of your hour. Admit your uncleanness, then receive Jesus Christ as your Savior, your Healer. Allow Him to wash away your sins. Draw near to the only one who can make you whole. The ambulance may not pass your way again!
