C'mon God I've Got An Urgent Situation Here

# 385 - Today's Living Word comes from Mr 5:35 “While He was still speaking, some came from the ruler of the synagogue's house who said, "Your daughter is dead. Why trouble the Teacher any further?"

Remember, this whole incident began with the ruler of the synagogue coming to Jesus with great urgency. His twelve year old daughter was gravely ill and near death. Put yourself in his shoes. What would you be thinking? What would you be feeling at this time? I know what I would be thinking.

“For crying out loud, my daughter is dying! Can't we get back to this woman's problem later? She's had it for twelve years, what is one more hour going to matter?”

Then he has to wait for the woman to give her entire testimony! We've been stuck in similar situations in traffic jams, and in grocery lines, and maybe even in emergency rooms. “C'mon! C'mon! I have an urgent situation here!” We get impatient, angry, even fearful the longer we have to wait. when we are in a hurry.

We forget that time does not matter to the Lord. Everything serves an eternal purpose for Him. He is doing something large or something small in the framework of your delay. He wastes nothing. Remember that the next time you are frustrated with impatience, and instead of stewing and grumbling about it. Offer up a prayer of thanksgiving believing that God is at work in the situation.
