Your Hearing Is Being Measured

# 345 - Today's Living Word comes from Mr 4:24, “Then He said to them, "Take heed what you hear. With the same measure you use, it will be measured to you; and to you who hear, more will be given.

Jesus continues commenting in the context of the parable of the sower. Every single Word of God, or seed is important. “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching. For reproof, for correction and for training in righteousness.” ( 2 Tim 3:16)

Heed what you hear! In other words, trust God's promises, obey His commands. Humbly submit to the authority of God's Words in your life. It is in this humility that God's grace or power for living, comes to your heart.

To the extent that you submit to God's Word, (the measure that you use in your daily living) it will be measured back to you by God. It's called grace for grace! Joh 1:16 says, “And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace.”

The classic example of this principle is found with the widow who submitted to the Word of God represented by Elijah the prophet, and gave of her last flour and oil to him. The measure she used was measured back to her. She never ran out of oil and flour!

God has an abundance of grace. (kindness and favor) for your need. But you won't tap into it, until you actively trust and obey His Word. Don't bottle up God's Word in your heart. Heed it! Allow His favor and kindness to flow through you to others. He will always keep you in fresh supply.
