When You Feel Like You're In A Trash Compactor

# 335- Today's Living Word comes from Mr 4:16,17 "These likewise are the ones sown on stony ground who, when they hear the word, immediately receive it with gladness; "and they have no root in themselves, and so endure only for a time. Afterward, when tribulation or persecution arises for the word's sake, immediately they stumble.

New Christians really need to understand this aspect of the newly planted seed. Tribulation and persecution will come. The devil doesn't give up easily. Before you became a Christian, he didn't have to bother with you. He owned you. But now things begin to happen, tribulation, or what we could call, “soul squeezings” start coming your way.

Suddenly, circumstances in your life make you feel like your very soul is in a trash compactor, and it's closing in on all sides. It wasn't like this before you gave your life to Christ, and so the devil now tries to convince you to leave the faith. This is a deadly, effective, and oft repeated tactic of Satan.

Hang in there no matter what! God's promise is that He will not allow you to be “trialed” or squeezed beyond your God-given ability to withstand it. Listen to a paraphrase of 1 Cor 10:13, “God is faithful, He will not allow you to be “trialed” beyond your ability, but with the trial, He will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.”

Did you catch that? God doesn't promise to necessarily remove the trial, but He does promise to give you the strength to endure it. The way out is to endure, God will shut the compactor off when the trial has accomplished His purpose. Wait it out. Cling to Him!
