# 346 - Today's Living Word comes from Mr 4:25 "For whoever has, to him more will be given; but whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him."
The backdrop of this teaching of Jesus is the parable of the sower. When we humbly submit to the Word of God, trusting it, obeying it, we open the door to the operation of His grace in our lives. It is His grace channeled through us that produces the fruit. Without Jesus (grace personified, we can do nothing. Jn 15:5) With Jesus (grace operating in our life, nothing is impossible. (Lk 1:37)
In the parable of the talents found in Mt 25:14-30, each of the three servants were given varying amounts of grace. Two of the servants utilized the grace given to them, the third buried it. Not having used it, there was no room to give him more.
Grace, by it's very nature must flow, like living water, like sap in a tree, producing life. This grace must not be frittered away as the prodigal son did when he spent it on the pleasures of this world, or the barren fig tree that Jesus cursed because it spent all its sap on making it's foliage beautiful.
God's grace, His kindness and favor, will flow through you as you extend kindness and favor to others. Have you hoarded God's grace or frittered it away? Learn from the prodigal and return to the Father. He longs to restore you and use you once more as His channel of grace.
