# 353 - Today's Living Word comes from Mr 4:37,38 “And a great windstorm arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so that it was already filling. But He was in the stern, asleep on a pillow. And they awoke Him and said to Him, "Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?"
This was a terrible storm. This wasn't a wave or two crashing over the side of the boat. This water was filling the boat. If the disciples were bailing water....they were losing, big time. If something didn't change in a hurry, they were going down. The boat was not just filling with water, it was filling with terror, and what was Jesus doing during these terror filled moments....sleeping!!!!
Because His trust in the Father's care was so solid, he was able to sleep even in the midst of this terrible storm. How many sleepless nights have you spent because something is terrifying your soul?
In Matthews account of this incident we read that the disciples “went to Him,” (Mt 8:25) May I suggest you do the same? Get up! Roll out of bed and find a place where you can quietly go to Him in prayer!
Stop relying on your own abilities to handle the problem. Come to the Master. He is bigger than any storm that may come your way. Whether it's a boat filling with water, or a mattress filling with tears, come to Jesus, and then wait for His peace in your situation. He will grant it, for His is the “God of peace.” (Rom 15:33)
