The Compelling Power In the Presence of Jesus

# 363- Today's Living Word comes from Mr 5:6,7 When he saw Jesus from afar, he ran and worshiped Him. And he cried out with a loud voice and said, "What have I to do with You, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I implore You by God that You do not torment me."

Jesus gets out of the boat and way off in the distance the Gadarene demoniac sees Him. Jesus, the Son of the Most High God voluntarily shrouded in the flesh of man.

What did that look like to these demons that likewise shrouded themselves in the flesh of this poor man? Did His glory shine through His flesh? Did the demons see a great bright light? We aren't told.

Only that they saw Him from afar off and were compelled to cause the container of flesh that they were in to run toward Jesus. How strange! I mean, you'd think they'd high tail it away from Jesus!

But Jesus had some business to do with these demons and you and I should take great heart from this passage. It seems that it was the will, and the power, and the very presence of Jesus that drew the demons to His feet.

Once at His feet, they had no choice but to use the body of flesh that they were occupying to prostrate themselves before the Son of the Most High God! Understand this beloved about the devil and his demons. They are powerful, but the will, and the power, and the presence of Jesus are stronger.

“He that is in you is greater than he who is in the world.” (1 Jn 4:4)
