# 352 - Today's Living Word comes from Mr 4:35,36. “On the same day, when evening had come, He said to them, "Let us cross over to the other side." Now when they had left the multitude, they took Him along in the boat as He was. And other little boats were also with Him.”
Did you catch that? “They took Him along in the boat as He was.” Well of course they took Him along! He's the One who told them to cross over to the other side!
It seems like the disciples were a little condescending toward there very special passenger.
“As He was,” infers that they viewed Jesus as a great teacher and a carpenter, but not one to rely on when navigating the moody waters of the Sea of Galilee at night. So they “took Him along, but THEY would be in charge of getting safely to the other side. They were the expert seamen. We will see their folly in the next couple of verses when the storm hits.
How often, we do the same thing. “I'll handle this Jesus!”
If Jesus is your co-pilot as you go through life. Change seats. Don't just take Jesus along as He is in your life. Turn full control over to Him. No matter how skilled you may think you are in navigating through life, ultimately, tests will come when you will not be able to rely on your own wiles to get you through. Let your theme song always be, “Jesus Savior Pilot Me.”
I'm Duane Matz and that's Today's Living Word.
