Isn’t it strange that in the book of Job we find Satan
being able to have an audience with God? We saw it in chapter one and we see it
again in chapter two! Job 2:1 Again there was a day when the sons of God
came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them to
present himself before the LORD. 2 And the LORD said to Satan, "From where
do you come?" So Satan answered the LORD and said, "From going to and
fro on the earth, and from walking back and forth on it."
And what was he doing when he had God’s ear? He was accusing
Job. He is the accuser! It’s one of the things he does best! He walks around
this earth, to and fro, observing the saints and he knows what we’ve been up
to. He knows our weaknesses. He knows how to tempt and when we fall for it, he
is quick to go into the accusing mode.
But here’s the thing. With the death and resurrection
of Jesus, the accuser no longer has God’s ear. He no longer has access to the
throne room. He has been cast down to earth! Know this and believe it beloved.
He may accuse within your earshot, but God is no longer listening!
Re 12:10 Then I heard a loud voice saying in
heaven, "Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the
power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused
them before our God day and night, has been cast down.
And a little
word of warning for you and I…….he’s cast down and mighty ticked about it,
because he knows his clock is ticking. Re 12:11 "And they overcame him
by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not
love their lives to the death. 12 "Therefore rejoice, O heavens, and you
who dwell in them! Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and the sea! For the
devil has come down to you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has a
short time."
So expect a lot of guilt trips and anything else that
he can throw your way to try and get you to doubt the goodness of God and ditch
your faith.
Don’t forget your keys to victory and use them!
#1 The blood of the Lamb which removes all your sin
and any grounds for accusation!
#2 The word of our testimony, which is our confession
of Jesus as “the Christ, the Son of the Living God”
#3 Loving not our lives until death, which is cutting
all strings and casting ourselves completely on the care of Jesus as our Lord,
Savior, and King.
Do these things! It’s called “resisting the devil,”
and he will flee from you. Jas 4:7 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil
and he will flee from you.
