Job 40:6 Then the LORD answered Job out of
the whirlwind, and said: 7 "Now prepare yourself like a man; I will
question you, and you shall answer Me: 8 "Would you indeed annul My
judgment? Would you condemn Me that you may be justified? 9 Have you an arm
like God? Or can you thunder with a voice like His? 10 Then adorn yourself with
majesty and splendor, and array yourself with glory and beauty. 11 Disperse the
rage of your wrath; Look on everyone who is proud, and humble him. 12 Look on
everyone who is proud, and bring him low; Tread down the wicked in their place.
13 Hide them in the dust together, Bind their faces in hidden darkness. 14 Then
I will also confess to you That your own right hand can save you.
First of all, let me ask you, “Have you ever heard the
sound of a tornado?” It’s deafening! And to think that God’s voice can be heard
above the terrifying roar of such a storm is a fearful thing to consider.
And what does God say above this din to the
complaining Job? “Man up! There is a God and you’re not Him!”
He says, “Do you think My ways are unfair? Would you
do things differently for your own justification? Sadly, many would answer that
question in the affirmative. The most common answer given for
self-justification is “Well God, I am basically a good person and my good deeds
certainly outweigh my bad.” Hasn’t that
been the bottom line argument of Job and his friends?
And God replies, “Okay, if you want self-justification,
give me a demonstration of your power! Raise your voice above the din of this
whirlwind. Or how about this: “Let’s see you sentence someone to hell.” If you are
able to do this, then by all means, adorn yourself with the majesty, splendor,
and the glory that is Mine! Bring the proud man low with your theology of good
works! It ain’t gonna happen!
It ain’t gonna happen because as Pr 21:2 says, “Every
way of a man is right in his own eyes, But the LORD weighs the hearts.”
“So go ahead! Tell me what is in the heart of every
man! You better let My angels straighten that one out and they will, per My
orders, on the Last Day!”
Mt 13:36 Then Jesus sent the multitude
away and went into the house. And His disciples came to Him, saying,
"Explain to us the parable of the tares of the field." 37 He answered
and said to them: "He who sows the good seed is the Son of Man. 38
"The field is the world, the good seeds are the sons of the kingdom, but
the tares are the sons of the wicked one. 39 "The enemy who sowed them is
the devil, the harvest is the end of the age, and the reapers are the angels.
40 "Therefore as the tares are gathered and burned in the fire, so it will
be at the end of this age. 41 "The Son of Man will send out His angels,
and they will gather out of His kingdom all things that offend, and those who
practice lawlessness, 42 "and will cast them into the furnace of fire.
There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
God knows the real deal when He sees the heart. He
knows the true believer and He knows the hypocrite! He justifies every man by His
grace through faith. Eph 2:8 .,9 reminds us: “For by grace you have been
saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not
of works, lest anyone should boast.”
Grace does not come to the proud as it says in James 4:6,
"God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble."
And in 1Pe 5:6 Therefore humble yourselves under the
mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time,
Only God has the power to humble a man sufficiently to
be prepared for God’s eternal life
saving grace. We all have to reach that point that says, “I can’t do it God, I trust
in You and You alone for my salvation. Or to put it Job’s way, “I have uttered
what I did not understand, therefore I abhor myself and repent in dust and
ashes.”
God granted humility, God granted grace, God-given
faith. Yes, there is a God and you and I are not Him.
