# 537 - Today's Du-votional comes from: Mr 9:20 Then they brought him to Him. And when he saw Him, immediately the spirit convulsed him, and he fell on the ground and wallowed, foaming at the mouth.
Get the picture. The demon possessed boy is brought to Jesus and the demon gives it one last hurrah. Convulsing, falling to the ground, wallowing, foaming at the mouth...Someone is having a bit of a snit!
I believe the Holy Spirit is trying to point us to something here. Something that is in the context of what is about to happen to Jesus in Jerusalem. We read about it in Rev 12:10-12, “Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, "Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down. 11 "And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death. 12 "Therefore rejoice, O heavens, and you who dwell in them! Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and the sea! For the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has a short time."
The demon in this boy knew he had a short time and what took place with that boy is a great picture of what is taking place with the devil in these last days. He is having a snit, instigating as much mayhem as possible on God's creation.
But know this beloved, He that is in you is greater than he who is in the world! And as you persevere and remain in the faith, the devil can rant and rave against you, but he can never snatch you out of the Father's hand.
Father, thank You for Your protection. Keep us securely in Your hands until the Day Jesus returns.
