# 161 Take A Stand!

The Book of Genesis Day 161 Ge 19:8 "See now, I have two daughters who have not known a man; please, let me bring them out to you, and you may do to them as you wish; only do nothing to these men, since this is the reason they have come under the shadow of my roof." 9 And they said, "Stand back!" Then they said, "This one came in to stay here, and he keeps acting as a judge; now we will deal worse with you than with them Lot has judged the intent of these men, (young and old) as wicked in light of the Word of God. Their brand of sexual immorality needed to be opposed, and their sins brought to light! He took a stand against sin, and heard the old battle cry of those who want to continue living in sin. “This one came here and he keeps acting as judge.” We hear the same thing today when Christians seek to point out sin in this world, and the world fires back,( out of context,) with the words of Jesus “Judge not, lest you be judged!” I can understand the world using that verse against a follower of Christ, but sad to say, it is often used by professing believers against those who would point out sin in the Body of Christ! The true context of “Judge not, lest you be judged,” is simply this: Examine your own life and put your own sins under the blood of Jesus BEFORE you approach a brother engaged in sinful activity. Do you not know that you are the salt of the earth? Do you not know that you are the light of the world? Salt smarts! Light smarts to those in darkness! Do not be silent! Take a stand like Lot did, even though the mob (like the world today) demanded that he “stand back!” Here’s what the Bible tells us about confronting sin in our world: Eph 5:11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them. Ps 94:16 calls for volunteers to step up! “ Who will rise up for me against the evildoers? Who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity?” And even more to the point: Eze 3:18 "When I say to the wicked, 'You shall surely die,' and you give him no warning, nor speak to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life, that same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at your hand. 19 "Yet, if you warn the wicked, and he does not turn from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but you have delivered your soul. And we are supposed to remain silent??????? I think not! The only thing I would caution about is your attitude. 1Pe 3:15 says, “ But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear;” And above all, don’t just judge sin, always make sure you point to the cure! Pray: Father, give me the strength to oppose sin in our world today. Help me to point it out when I see it, and at the same time point to the cross as the solution.
