Isa 8:11 For the LORD spoke thus to me
with a strong hand, and instructed me that I should not walk in the way of this
people, saying: 12 "Do not say, 'A conspiracy,' Concerning all that this
people call a conspiracy, Nor be afraid of their threats, nor be troubled. 13
The LORD of hosts, Him you shall hallow; Let Him be your fear, And let Him be
your dread.
Who says the Word of God is not relevant today?
Conspiracy theories abound in our world today. They have always been around,
but they seem to flourish in the hotbed of social media. Who do you believe?
Conspiracy theories awaken fear in the souls of men
and when fear is awakened, we often panic and forget who is ultimately in
control.
In this text, Syria and the Northern Kingdom have conspired
to conquer the Southern Kingdom, and King Ahaz and his subjects were all
atwitter (pun intended) with fear! What to do? God gives us the answer that is
good for all conspiracies for all time: “Nor be afraid of their threats, nor
be troubled. 13 The LORD of hosts, Him you shall hallow; Let Him be your fear,
And let Him be your dread.”
Conspiracy or not, bottom line always begins with the
fear of the Lord. As Jesus said in
Mt 10:28 "And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the
soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
There IS one conspiracy that we should be acutely aware
of as we travel this sod. The devil and
his demons have conspired to separate you from the love of God. Know this and
hold onto this truth:
Ro 8:38 For I am persuaded that neither
death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present
nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall
be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
