Let Your hands Not Be Idle

We know that His anger is often aroused when His people drift away from Him, and often this drifting occurs during times of peace and prosperity. As the old English proverbs says, “Idle hands are the devils workshop.” it was idleness that led to the worship of the golden calf, and it was idleness that led to David's sin with Bathsheba. We need to be on guard against it. Let's list some other verses that deal with this subject matter: Ec 9:10 Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might; for there is no work or device or knowledge or wisdom in the grave where you are going. Ro 12:11, Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Col 3:23 - Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, 1 Sam 10:7- Once these signs are fulfilled, do whatever your hand finds to do, for God is with you. Eccl 11:6 - Sow your seed in the morning, and at evening let your hands not be idle, for you do not know which will succeed, whether this or that, or whether both will do equally well. Beware of idleness. Press on! Finish the race! Receive the crown! Say with the Apostle Paul: 2Ti 4:7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 8 Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing.
