Good day! I’m Duane Matz
and this is Today’s Living Word:
Alas,
the poor jackal. Just a wild dog that has always had a bad rap. They are the
low life of the animal kingdom.
The
ostrich: Well, let Job tell you about the ostrich
Job
39:13 "The wings of the ostrich wave proudly, But are her wings and
pinions like the kindly stork's? 14 For she leaves her eggs on the ground, And
warms them in the dust; 15 She forgets that a foot may crush them, Or that a
wild beast may break them. 16 She treats her young harshly, as though they were
not hers; Her labor is in vain, without concern, 17 Because God deprived her of
wisdom, And did not endow her with understanding.
So
why do I bring up the jackal and the ostrich in Today’s Living Word? It’s
because I was reading in the Book of Lamentations this morning and came across
this verse: La 4:3 Even the jackals present their breasts To nurse their
young; But the daughter of my people is cruel, Like ostriches in the
wilderness.
Even
the low-life jackal has concern for their young, but not so the daughters of
God’s people. They have become like the ostrich in the book of Job.
They
squawk, “My body, my choice” and allow their fertilized eggs to be crushed by
the fool, wild beast, abortionist! She treats her young harshly as “though they
were not hers!”
She
does this because she lacks God-given wisdom and understanding.
Women!
Men! Get your ostrich head out of the stand and understand that God is the author
of life. It is He who knits us together in the womb! The Psalmist says: Know
that the LORD, He is God; It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; We
are His people and the sheep of His pasture. (Ps 100:3)
Abortion
is a sin against God, even the jackal has enough sense to cherish the fruit of
the womb!
Look,
there is a God who loves you so much that He sent His only Son to die on the
cross to pay for your sins….even the sin of abortion. Turn to the Lord, repent
of your sins, receive His forgiveness and be set free from your guilt.
The
cross is ever set before you. God continually invites you to repent and be forgiven,
but you won’t see the cross if you keep your head in the sand.
I’m
Duane Matz, and that’s Today’s Living Word.
